General Dentistry

Dental check-ups are an important part of general dentistry. However, there are many effective treatments that can make a big difference for your smile! From dental crowns to dental cleanings, there are several ways you can improve and maintain a healthy, bright smile.

Exams & Cleanings

At a regular dental check-up, you will receive a thorough exam, professional cleaning and x-rays as needed. Dental check-ups are recommended every six months. By receiving a professional cleaning on a regular basis, your hygienist can remove plaque and tartar buildup to help avoid tooth decay and gum disease. A thorough exam by your dentist will indicate any signs of decay or infection. By treating oral problems right away, you can save time and money down the road.

Fluoride Treatments & Dental Sealants

At a regular dental visit, your dentist may recommend either fluoride treatments or dental sealants to protect your smile. Fluoride treatments are applied to the teeth and help build and strengthen enamel. Dental sealants are applied to the back teeth and help seal and protect the deep crevices and hard-to-reach areas of your smile. Once applied, sealants last for many years! Fluoride treatments and dental sealants are safe for children, teens and adults.

Fillings

If your dentist discovers tooth decay, the decay will need to be removed to prevent it from spreading. Once removed, a cavity is left in the tooth that requires a filling. A tooth filling restores the appearance and function of your tooth. Fillings are tooth-colored and blend in naturally with your smile!

Root Canals

Our team does whatever we can to preserve natural teeth and root canal therapy is one method to help preserve a tooth! When decay in a tooth spreads all the way to the pulp of the tooth, root canal therapy can be used to save the tooth from extraction. Root canal therapy removes all of the decay and infection. Once removed, the tooth is carefully cleaned and sealed. Your dentist may recommend a dental crown to restore your tooth following treatment.

Gum Care

The beginning signs of gum disease can be hard to detect. When gum disease first begins, the main symptom is typically red, swollen gums. Treatment can help reverse the signs of gum disease and protect your smile. Left untreated gum disease can lead to loose teeth and eventually tooth loss. Treatment for gum disease includes professional cleanings, scaling and root planing and medications.
